Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT  

 

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

 I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

 

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced! 

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training 

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week 

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

 

 

As a youngster

County Champion for Xcountry and

High Jump

and 1500ms track.

pbs aged 13 yrs old

800ms 2mins 16secs

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

 

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.


Short-Term Running Goals:

Complete my 1st Triathlon    1st lady   Brinscall  ok this was a triathlon with no timed transition i treated it as a training race to see if I like triathlons and I love them.

Complete off road triathlon  2nd lady.. 12 secs behind my age group world champion.  Tameside triathlon

Complete outdoor water race 1 mile   Salford Great north swim . 29 mins yay

Complete Olympic distance triathlon

Winter Duathlon Series Race 1 - December 12th 2010  Won  overall time 1hr 8 mins 43 secs

ahhh what a nice 10 days of warm weather training i have had.

i have run allot more done 2 brick sessions, and swum everyday straight after the gym to ease my legs which worked wonders

brick SESSION

 

30 mins of hard bike intervals i mean hard .....wobblysore legs off i go

 

treadmill

10 mins increasing in incline every minuted and speed by 1km every other minute

5 mins recovery but at 13km pace

then 15 mins of hell increasing incline & speed every min to 3% incline for first 6 mins then stuck at 3.5 % and increased pace every minute till last 5 mins at 14.5kmh then hit 15kmh for last 2 mins and last 1 min at 16kmh which is 5.40 pace ouch it hurt like well heck

my legs are still sore from the brick session yesterday omg the pain 

 

now 15 mins level 10 on xtrainer a really good warm up i was sweating allot already lol

then 10k i was ok for 5k struggled on the 6th and 7th k slowed up loads then picked it up on the 8th and again on the 9th then hit it for last kilometer at 17.5 kmh for the last minute

41.04 mins with sore legs not bad after 10 days of easy'ish training

 

now the gory part

i am trying to get used to running with no socks well i didnt know i was running today and didnt have any body glide with me ...... duh i thought i would be ok double duh

im not going into too much detail but by mile 3 or 5k i had buring sore feet by 6k it was really ouchie sore...... i wont show you photos of my nasty feet cos their nasty but i will show you my blood splattered trainer and by the way just cos the other trainer is not blood splattered doesnt mean my foot wasnt also blister infested cos it is ouch ouchie ouch ouch

Very Cold Very windy not nice on a bike

I had my birthday Yesterday and my present was triathlon bars

 

 

Mmmmmmm nice bars the ones sticking out the front.... ok I did not have time yesterday to actuallly try them out except for in the shop to make adjustments and they did raise the seat allot and move it forward so I will be using different muscles on the bike now!!!

 

So Race day

5k run 18.38 mins slower than last time but Im tired I didnt taper this week and it was windy  I was struggling after half way ! 

10 mile bike  30;39 about a min slower than last time omg the wind was horrendous I tell you this bike section hurt from the start and just got worse I pushed to the max hoping I was going to do a faster time ! never mind but I did throw up mid way without stopping urghhhh grossss lol 

5k run 19;47 mins well it was faster than last time although last time I had an injury my calf went and I hopped and skipped this part of the race lol so yeah glad it was much faster  borked during this part of the race and at the end

1st lady  by nearly 2mins woohooo

21st overall inc the men 

 

Had some lovely cake at the end and they did a buff with the event on it for finnishers !

free coffeee hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm cake coffee and a buff excellent run event and great atmosphere everyone is so nice at Triathlons and duathlons

other ladies congratulation me after the 1st run ! really nice people I love it.

 

On the way Home I threw up and felt ill for about 2 hours not nice I think I pushed myself really hard after no taper and probably still jet lagged its taken its toll on me this week but all good stuff.
