Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced!

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

As a youngster

County Champion for Xcountry and

High Jump

and 1500ms track.

pbs aged 13 yrs old

800ms 2mins 16secs

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.

thunder storms for hours, ahhhh kept me awake, and im am absolutely you got it not naked nor nakered but KNACKERED   LOL

15 mins xtrainer level 6

ran outside, in the heat about 10am, oh dear it was so humid I struggled really struggled to breathe nasty nasty nasty weather.Update;  27 C = 80F     81% humidity phhhhhht!

7.3 miles slower than 8 min pace ahhhh, I ran in the sea for 3 miles to try and keep myself cool but it slows you down even more, great leg strengthener ran through woodlands trails hills sand, 1 or 3 sanddunes, and im tired today, just wanted to sleep on the side of a sanddune, :-)  this 7.3 miles was harder than my long run on Sunday! OM* I even walked on some of it not much, but it was real hard for me...not sure if it was motivation which I did struggle with or just shear HELL ....

HOme for food ice bath nap and its shopping then run later tonight as its much too hot 90s with humidity over 85%,,,   so the thunder storm made the weather worse :-(

Food Tick

Ice bath Nice tick

Nap loving it over an hour tick

shopping urrghhh tick

I went home, made tea, we didnt have to go to footy tonight as My son Dylan fell off his bike on the way to school and bashed his knee pretty bad, so I got to have another nap 1hr 10 mins and ready for my run

Evening run tick

Okay 6.90  Odd numbers today, but thats ok because they add up to a .3 and I like no 3's so I can cope with that.....

Pretty good, it had cooled down somewhat still slightly humid but not as bad as this morning, my legs still bit achey after yesterdays tempo run.... did the run in average pace 7.45 min miles, not bad for an easy run

Happy bunny none the less :-)))

Good work in the conditions - humidity going down later this week hopefully according to weather forecast

Great running this week! Just wondering how much does it cost to run a marathon there in the us dollar? But i do have to say it really looks like you are ready for your next marathon.

From sam Dean-Howard on Wed, Jul 01, 2009 at 12:54:33 from 90.210.160.175

Chris Thanks, but the thunderstorm seems to have made it hotter and more humid, I really struggled to breathe this morning, it was so hot and horrible nasty weather :-)

Barry, thanks I think I have 12 weeks inc this week till the marathon, I should have my tempo up in the 10-11 miles the mile reps should be faster not upping the amount just trying to get faster, then the long runs I should get up to marathon distance I know thats a taboo whether to do such a long run, ive only ever got up to 23/24 miles, but I die in the last few miles of both my marathons so lots of hard work yet! im nearly half way on my 4 week block..

Berlin cost me £55.00 ($90USD) but that inc some souvenirs that are cheaper to buy upfront so I have been told. bit of a rip off I think. London Marathon was I think £30/35(£35=$57.74 USD) last year so Im not sure how much it was this yr or next yr, but these are big marathons the smaller ones can be anything from £15.00 upwards ($24.75 USD)

Ta :-)

How fast do you do 10-11 mile tempo runs? Tempo pace for me is half marathon pace but I'm guessing you don't do them that fast! Interesting when Liz Yelling was in AW couple of weeks back she was saying about doing tempo runs/hard long runs around 15-18 miles long!

From sam Dean-Howard on Wed, Jul 01, 2009 at 15:10:20 from 90.210.160.175

Chris my tempo is half pace 6:20/6:30 Liz yelling hard long run will b between half pace and marathon pace I read that too but I'm sure she said to do ur long run start out slow then ramp up the last 6/8 miles to marathon pace I'd have to go check :-)

Good training so far this week. You have some pretty exciting goals yourself.

Your pace for tempo is really moving. Keep up the good work.

Great training so far this week, especially considering the weather you are dealing with!

From sam Dean-Howard on Wed, Jul 01, 2009 at 17:38:23 from 90.210.160.175

Cheston, thanks for the encouragement, not a great day for me today, they say things come in 3 too, hoping I got all three over and done with today! My son fell off his bicycle and it was messy, then my run went bad, then I locked my keys in the car DUH ! feeling tired but okay.

Jeff: thanks yeah the weather is so unusual for the uk its just so weird I thought oh nice an autumn marathon some nice training in nice weather instead of training for London through our horrid winters re-think this one for next year :-)

From allie on Wed, Jul 01, 2009 at 20:34:06 from 208.110.151.113

Ta Allie, I did notice, the mileage board, only thing I wasnt planning on this much this week, I have another 2 weeks of just over 70 miles, then its easy week, hoping I get through the next couple of weeks with no hiccups !
