Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced!

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

As a youngster

County Champion for Xcountry and

High Jump

and 1500ms track.

pbs aged 13 yrs old

800ms 2mins 16secs

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.

Great images made me laugh for the first time in 4 days because of this sickness. Great workout.

I do "Planks" as well and try to hold them for 2 to 3 minutes. Their tough. Right when I'm done I stay in that position (I don't relax it's immediate) and do 20 pushups... try that it will strengthen you. I love your workouts on the core. You realize how important it is for running. You deserve a major PR in your next race because of the determination you put in your workouts.

Your usual route you run is it all flat?

From Samantha Dean-Howard on Mon, Oct 19, 2009 at 15:39:06 from 90.195.99.249

Ha ha Glad your feeling somewhat better Kory....

yeah I do put over 110 % in to training and thats prob why I break every now and again but I love to train hard... this route is sort of flat no obvious hills except one over a train line some are slow hills you wouldnt really notice walking as much but I notice them when Im running the route the other way round as I go so much faster..... half road half paths and dirt tracks...then I actually run across 2 farmer fields along the tractor or sprayer tracks...I know the farmers and they are always happy to see me and dont mind me tredding on their land ! but today they had shoot on (english men dressed up like the old days thinking they are the gentlemen of the past although my husbands been on shoots apparently its good fun) I knew they werent shooting as theyd be spaced out all over 2-3 fields but they were all around their own vehicles and I couldnt hear gunshots...but they thought it would be funny to try stop me running and question why I am there! trespassing on private land oh no I wasnt I HAD PERMISSION ha ha I said it was a long story sorry :-)

So you gonna start drinking beer while you run? I went to a new massage therapist last week and she in all seriousness tried to convince me to take butter instead of gu/carbs on my long runs and in my marathons. She thought it would metabolize quicker and give me more bang for my buck.

From Kory on Mon, Oct 19, 2009 at 19:05:23 from 134.50.89.55

Sam - that's a really unique running route and sounds fun. It's definitely good you have permission from the farmers. Getting pavement and paths is a good mix-up too.

I'm boring all my runs are on pavement. I start from my house and can choose about four different ways. Two are hill routes and two are flat routes.

Keep up with the core work, because that really does help in the last few miles in a marathon.

I think someone is having too much fun. Glad to see it. I second Jeff, that is one awesome hydration belt. Not only do you get the fluid in you can also get some carbs to refuel!

Chris - when I have enough time im a black belt in photoshop if it doesnt work I just pass it to my bro hes a graphic designer he he he and no I wasnt actually dodging bullets as I know when they are beating for the pheasants and shooting and it aint when they are standing around trucks and cars drinking coffee....but they did peeve me off the smell of coffee ahhhhh

From Kory on Tue, Oct 20, 2009 at 14:52:06 from 134.50.89.55

Sam - I talk a lot when I run with others to. That really makes a fun enjoyable run. Believe me I would love to fly over there and my family could go site seeing and I could run.
