Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced!

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

As a youngster

County Champion for Xcountry and

High Jump

and 1500ms track.

pbs aged 13 yrs old

800ms 2mins 16secs

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.

This is supposed to be an easy run... session tomorrow!

I did a total of 7.54 miles in 1hr 48secs.

6°C | °F

Current: Cloudy
Wind: NW at 14 mph
Humidity: 81%

Quite warm although the wind chill was -1C  cold brrr but I still went outside.....

okay as usual Sandy trails, sandy hills, sandy roads he he, I hit the beach too it was completley empty no surprise as it was a NW wind of at least 14mph, against me hard work.

pretty much 5 miles off road then last 2.5 miles on road.

I had a phone call with 2 miles to go, need to be home to pay kitchen fitters by 3.00pm, I had 15 mins to get my butt home omg, easy run gone out the window. heres the splits;

8.00 8.30 windy trails 8.30 same old windy 9.16 sand dunes onto the beach and beach

8.57 windy

7.54 mile mile 6 cranking it up last half

6.22 mile 7 although fastest pace was 5.35  I was flying at this point I looked behind me to cross the road to see if it was safe to cross over and hit my shoulder on a lamp post OUCH double OUCH, I kept running but omg its sore now.....  I kept running

It was real busy this is the route I run through part of the end of the local village, I stopped the traffic twice, just putting my hand up and giving the thumbs up it felt goooooood :-)     just after hitting my shoulder My husband drove past, I tried to raise my arm I was like ouch and keeping the pace up :-O

3.14 to 7.54 mile again fastest pace 5.32 average 5.58 pace.

Ok I literally hit the entrance of the gym and it was like run in get keys go sort out the kitchen guys, all sweaty lol.

I had to go back the gym to get my stuff and see my physio..... twice I got my car space back today yay.... and I spoke to the xmas tree guys, they were like you train hard? and asked what times I do, one guy nearly fell over he was like omg thats really fast.... I said thankyou and I really like this car space they laughed. :-)  fingers crossed I get it tomorrow.

Oh and yes I checked the garmin it worked in the end. my pace was 5.30 yesterday too. I hope Im recovered for tomorrows session and I havnet risked it too much.

oh and the kitchen isnt finnished tops still need to go on cooker hob, tv still needs sorting, and floor preperation still needs doing, oh I still havent got a wash machine or my dishwasher, or sink, just the cooker is working so I christened it with some lovely Cumberland sausages..... gotta have my sausage baps :-)

WILD and WINDY :)

Nice dedication in the wind and cold. Great pace last couple miles. Do you wear mittens in this type of weather? That's what I wear along with UnderArmour tights and a long sleeve shirt with a North Face light wind jacket, and a UnderArmour hood.

I'm glad your able to cook now. At least that's progress.

The beach is pretty where you located. I don't have anything close to that here.

Kory- thanks, no I wore shorts, one long sleeve running top, and a light rain proof run jacket, no mittens not really cold enough as when I was out the wind, as you can see its a nice crisp sunny day :)

Im glad I can cook now, cant believe how fed up of rubbish food I am even though you can try to eat healthy it never is it it.

Those are some wonderful pictures! I am glad you have some semblance of a kitchen Sandy. It will be great when it is all done (and I want to see pictures!).

Sorry about the lamp post. Maybe it was a magical one like in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. (Did I spell that right?) Any bunnies today? I like the picture of the person being chased by a car in the sand.

From Burt on Fri, Dec 04, 2009 at 01:26:23 from 98.177.216.165

No! Come on! That's not what I meant. What? I simply meant he could roll under a couch or something.

From missy on Fri, Dec 04, 2009 at 01:39:14 from 207.224.208.33

OH, thank goodness Burt, sorry! My mistake! :) In either case, I would be sad to lose my Spongebob!
