Triathlons are my New sport and I LOVE IT

Recent last few years  as I havent done much since I was 16/17yrs, on and off injuries, going out with Friends started. Operations on injuries- compartment syndrome front of the shin had small operation to release the pressure on the fascia.

Oct 2007.  Did the great north run.  ( I was in the elite ladies race, against Kara Goucher and Paula Radcliffe, Im sure u Americans will recall that race).

I was just in on my previous times from the Bath Half Marathon. I ran it as best as I could off my training & circumstances...

Decided to do my 1st Marathon with London looming in the following April I was in the ladies Elite race again.  So the training was on.  I realise now I didnt give my body enough time to recover as it did break down in the last 5 weeks of my training. Injury bound, with calf and hamstring problems I raced!

London Marathon, April 08 (Injury calf issues) 1st marathon  3hrs.12mins .30 secs

Dublin Marathon  Oct 08  3hrs.01mins.13  undulating and 1 toilet stuck/stop (LOL)

Bath Half 2007    1.26.35 hrs

Wilmslow half marathon english champs    1.25.39

18th lady  (With piriformis injury ).

Liverpool 10k 2008 Oct 37.42mins midst marathon training

Wirral 5k 2009 17.41mins off the back off marathon week

Track 3000ms 10.45mins  hmmm I ran this to get points for my club so I just did tactical and ran on 1st lady shoulder and sprinted at the end !

As a youngster

County Champion for Xcountry and

High Jump

and 1500ms track.

pbs aged 13 yrs old

800ms 2mins 16secs

1500ms 4mins 48 secs

high jump 1metre 53  (cant do this now) and I never trained for it as a kid, just competed alot for points for my club, usually spend 2 hours highjumping, and skip off to do an 800 or 1500ms race then go back to high jump, Wish I took the running more seriously!

Run on more than several occasions for my County against Ireland county of Dublin.

Top 50 finnisher at 14yrs of age in english nationals Xcountry.

6.01 head on wind,

5:59,

6.02 very windy,

6:00, bit windy

5:57

All with 3.30-4 mins jogging recovery run for approx 0.25 miles each totalling 1.25 miles

easy run back through the woods and trails for 4.80 miles

I did fuel for this session as I bonked last week and as I am only doing 2 sessions a week well I dont want to be bonking its got to be quality quality quality :)

It was kinda windy today I was not at all impressed and I had a bad night last night probably about 4 maybe 5 hours of sleep so I was pretty impressed with my mile reps, hoping next week will be the breakthrough in sub 6 min miles :-O

I am happy though I had a coffee yesterday afternoon with my coach and covered allot of the training and stuff, mental aspect of my running too, I felt allot happier but slightly drained from it all, He has allot of information to tell ha ha (talks allot) also covered the plan for the Liverpool Half marathon, the idea is to go out at Marathon pace 6.45/6.50 pace for 9 miles then pick the pace up as much as I can to the end hoping for maybe

6.20/6.30 pace in the pick up, apparently if I can do that I will prob still do a 1hr 28 half and my coach then thinks I will be ready for a sub 3hr marathon......woooooooohooooo

so its get through another couple of weeks like I say I dropped my mileage a bit this week as I will be doing 4 full weeks before another easy week and that easy week will fall right infront of the half marathon....... Burt Walter no bunnies today it was actually kinda cold but a nice run day just the right temp for me I dont like the heat :-)

I definitely think I am anaemic with the low blood pressure.... feeling drained and a bit washed out too.... So I started some iron water supplement that I have used before its really good and gets quick into your system

I highly recommend it, I eat pretty healthy too lots of dark greens and salads and veg but obviously the mileage and training is taking its toll.

Well done on the miles, just need to omit the recoveries and do another 20.2 at the same pace :-)

You seem to run out of carbs quite frequently, time to eat more!

Lots of red meat is good for iron!

Awesome repeats Sam! See, I'm no where close to hitting mile repeats at those paces =P I'm sure on an ideal day, you can hit those repeats sub 6 easy. Keep up the great training Sam! Sub 3, shoot I see sub 2:55.

Chris I didnt bonk this week I ate more than enough carbs LOL, yeah redmeat only once a week, but I am on iron water which is probably the best stuff about at the moment :)

Vinh- you are slowly but surely catching me up yeah deffo ha ha I am going to stab at a sub 3 but hoping to run through it and smash that pr :)

Rick yeah it was a cool breeze enough to really make those reps hard for sure..... but yes the sunshine is lovely and a nice day today too that video is funny LOL :-O
